Pressure accessories, another piece of the puzzle that makes up “The Water Way”
When planning a network of pipes for an irrigation installation on a farm, in addition to these pressure pipes, a series of necessary accessories must be taken into account to make an optimal installation of them feasible.
An important factor to take into account is that all these accessories must allow quick and easy assembly/disassembly of the irrigation system. This is an important feature of the pressure accessories, as our crop planning can change from season to season, and therefore have to readjust from one year to another “The Water Way”, so that our crop grows optimally.
This range of accessories, valid for the transport of high pressure water, water for irrigation… and is represented by three main groups:
Ball valves: they are a stopcock mechanism, which is used to regulate the flow of the fluid to be channelled. They have this name because the regulating mechanism inside them is in the shape of a perforated sphere. Depending on the position of this stopcock, the ball will or will not obstruct the passage of the water.
Collars: their function is to carry out a derivation of the pipe network in a transversal direction to the main pipe.
Polyethylene fittings: there is a wide range with different functions according to the different needs that arise at each point of the installation, such as joining pipes (union sleeves), often of different diameters, to make changes in direction between two adjacent pipes (elbows and bends), and thus a change in the direction of water flow, reductions in pipe diameters, or dividing a flow in different directions (tees).
