Irrigation Air Release Valves

Prevents balls of air in the pipes
Despite being one of the smallest elements of the system, irrigation air release valves play a vital role for optimum performance. This is due to the presence of air in the tube, filtration and pump systems, which can lead to load losses and the poor operating of different elements, in addition to dreaded broken pipes.

VP AIR RELEASE VALVES protect your system from the dangerous air present inside it. 1
In comparison with the rest of the system’s elements, irrigation aire release valves are a minor investment.
However, not investing in aire release valves or having them installed wrongly in the system can make a huge difference in terms of efficiency, and can even lead your system to stop working or cause other elements to break.

As a result of this, irrigation aire release valves don’t just protect us from losses of performance, they also protect us from potential costs arising from the maintenance or having to change the elements affected by the air present in the drip irrigation system.

Benefits of using irrigation air release valves

0.1

Kinetic effect which guarantees the correct evacuation and filling of air in the pipes

0.2

Anti-drip hermetic seal. Large internal space for suction.

0.3

High capacity of expulsion of large volumes of air. GTR models in nominal pressure of 16 bar (PN16).

0.4

Anti-insect pre-filters
(in 2” models)

0.5

Manufactured in high quality plastic materials. Resistant to corrosion from agricultural products.

0.6

Threaded connection which makes it easier to position pieces to connect drainage pipes

Problems that the pressence of air in pressure irrigation networks can cause

The air present in irrigation systems tends to accumulate in the higher areas of the system (due to the difference in density compared to water). Unlike water, air compresses so that, in the areas where it builds up, it causes:
> Occasional overpressure in the areas of accumulation, causing breakages.

> Depressions in pipes: when the pipes are emptied, a vacuum is created which can cause the pipes to be crushed.

> Restriction (partial or full) of the circulation of water.

> Loss of efficiency in key elements such as filtration or pumping.

> Cavitation in other elements of the system.

> Reduction in pressure of the flow measurement and deterioration of the counters, specifically their moving parts.

All of these problems lead to a reduction in the system’s performance which therefore increases the costs of irrigating our crops, in addition to an increase in costs of maintenance and changing of elements in the irrigation system.
